The Lady Royals continued their 5 game winning streak in conference beating Westfield Friday night 56-30.
The Lady Royals started slow allowing Westfield to jump out to an early 10-4 lead in the first 3 minutes of the game. After a couple offensive rebounds, the Lady Royals were able to end the 1st quarter tied 12-12. With a quick start and continued offensive rebounding in the 2nd quarter the Lady Royals were able to score 16 points. The turning point was on the defensive end, where the Royals held Westfield to just 2 points. The Lady Royals headed into the locker room at half-time leading 28-14. Westfield was not out of the game and came out physical and attacking the Lady Royals in the start of the 3rd. However, the Royals did not back down and continued to dominate another quarter outscoring Westfield 11-6. The fourth quarter started and the Royals didn’t slow down. They continued to crash the offensive boards ending the game with 14 offensive rebounds. These rebounds turned into points and the Royals finished with 17 4th quarter points.
The Lady Royals improved their records to 18-1 overall and 5-0 in conference.
Leading scorers for the Royals were Parrish with 21, Jackson with 11 and Hamilton with 11. Leading rebounders were Parrish 7, Self 6 and Hamilton 5.
