The Lady Royals finished off their regular season with a win over Pike 64-50 on Tuesday night.
The Lady Royals capped off their regular season finishing 21-1 won a victory over a tough Pike team. The Royals continued to dominate by playing team basketball and working hard on the defensive end. The first quarter saw a tough Pike team giving all they had on senior night, but with another great team shooting night the Royals were able to outscore Pike 20-14 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw a change in momentum and the Lady Royals held Pike to only 3 points in the quarter. At the half the Lady Royals were leading 33-17. Starting the 3rd quarter Pike came with a full court press to try and create steals and quick buckets; however, the Royals stayed calm and held off Pike’s surge. Leading 50-31 going into the 4th quarter the Royals knew they had to continue to hold off another run by Pike and that’s exactly what they did. Even though Pike outscored the Royals 19-14 in the 4th the Lady Royals were too much for Pike to handle.
Leading the way in scoring were Parrish with 21, Jackson with 19 and Hamilton with 14. Leading rebounders were Hamilton with 9 and Parrish with 7.
