The Lady Royals bounced back from last week’s loss to Ryle with a win against Pendleton Tuesday night 69-35.
The Royals jumped out to an early advantage in the first quarter and never looked back. Taking control on both ends of the floor, the Lady Royals were able to turn defensive stops into quick points and outscore Pendleton 16-5 in the first quarter. The energy and intensity didn’t stop there. The Lady Royals were able to crash the offensive boards which created extra offensive possessions leading the Royals to a 26-11 advantage after the second quarter. At the half, the Lady Royals had totaled 15 offensive boards and were up 42-16.Pendleton didn’t give in and outscored the Lady Royals 10-9 in the 3rd quarter. With a few changes, the Lady Royals were able to regain momentum and outscore Pendleton 18-9 in the fourth quarter. The team worked together and several players contributed on both sides of the floor. The Lady Royals fought hard and improved their record to 11-1.
Parrish lead the way with 28 and Maulucci had 9. Rebounding leaders were Parrish with 15, Walton with 7 and Self with 6.
