Your HSE Boys Swimming and Diving Team visited Franklin Central for the first time as the Flashes are new to our conference – they were outstanding hosts and raced like they were defending their home turf. Our guys had to dig deep to get this win and were definitely up to the task this evening – we were especially proud of our Team Captains for this meet – Andrew Christopher and Alex Kaminski. They both led in the pool and on the deck particularly in some close races where they did not back down from hard racing.

One of the best swims of the night had to be Connor Harrison in the 200 Free – this is not a normal event for him and he was not able to hold on to his lead after the 100, but he kept his cool and had an amazing last 50 to cruise home to a win.

Keegan Streett followed that with a win in the 200 IM – an event he does not normally swim but looked good in tonight. DJ Rogers won the 50 Free but also swam super tough in all his races this evening. Nathan Barr is starting to look really good in diving and brought home another 1st place tonight. Marcus Eden looked smooth winning the 500 Free this evening and followed that event with an event he is really focused on right now – the 100 Back. The meet was capped off by a win from Andrew Truxall in the 100 Breast.

It was truly a team effort but we cannot end this post without noting the progression of sophomore Logan Hess – he has been working hard for sure but this is an experienced and older team with very few spots open to the youngsters. That is not the way Logan approaches things – he works hard, views any event as an opportunity to improve, and competes with grit and an incredibly positive mindset. Logan is a huge part of the future of this team.

The boys have an early morning meet this Saturday (9a) – all Royals should plan to attend the 8a Open House for new Indiana Swimming and Diving HOF Inductee Lindsay Rogers.
