The Lady Royals defeated Columbus East Saturday afternoon 52-37 in the final game of the HSE Shootout.
The first quarter HSE outscored Columbus East 12-10 while only shooting 4-12 from the field. The second quarter was back and forth with both teams being more active on the offensive end; however, HSE was still able to hold onto the lead heading into halftime 26-25. At the start of the third, both teams looked to be very strong on the offensive end. The Lady Royals were still able to hold onto the lead going into the 4th quarter with a score of 36-34. The Lady Royals continued to battle a very tall and physical Columbus East team and were able to limit their scoring to 3 points in the 4th quarter. HSE shared the wealth on the offensive end getting 6 players to score and knocking down 19 field goals on 16 assist.
Leading scorers for the Lady Royals were Viele 13, Brown 11, Hinshaw 10, Self 8 and Makalusky 8.
Leading rebounders were Self with 16, Hinshaw 6, Brown 5 and Makalusky 4.
