Your Lady Royals were strong today – the girls said all along that their primary goal was to be better than they were on Thursday night…an attempt to mimic the sectional championship format. And that was exactly what they did today – anytime the 3rd and 4th ranked teams in the state go against each other, its going to be tough racing. In the end, it was not enough to beat the Fishers Tigers, but it was an improvement and things are pointed in the right direction for this team.
Congratulations to HCC Champions from today – Sarah Ballard led the way winning the diving and she was simply outstanding looking every bit the part of one of the strongest divers in the state. Molly Pedersen turned a Thursday night loss around with a win in the 200 Free and also brought home the victory in the 100 Free – she is racing as well as she ever has right now. The 200 Free Relay also departed the meet as Conference Champions – nice job Kennedy Fisher, Grace Newton, Molly Pedersen, and Kayleigh Witt. Season bests today came from Bri Saple (50 Free relay split), Ellie Pedersen (500 Free), Hannah Justice (Diving), and Ella Penny (Diving).
We are very proud of this team and they are completely on track for a fantastic finish to the season. This will be a solid week of training as taper time is near and the girls are ready to hone in on some of the small details so it’s going to be a lot of fun. As usual – the Royal Nation represented loud/proud and the joint was jumping! Thank you to all of the team supporters and we will see you next week!
