Hamilton Southeastern High School 3rd 0

Congratulations to the HSE Girls Swimmers and Divers – 3rd place team finish at the IHSAA State Championships this weekend! This was a collective team effort that has to be one of the most inconceivable accomplishments in the history of the program – this group was barely in the top 20 State Rankings throughout the year. They just kept fighting and brought it together when it mattered the most – what a great day to be a Royal!

Highlights include:
200 Medley Relay (Abby Harter, Madison Kertin, Hannah Pugh, and Emily Barnes) 3rd
200 Free – Kayleigh Witt 28th
200 Individual Medley – Abby Harter 10th, Hannah Pugh 16th, Olivia Harter 18th
50 Free – Emily Barnes 4th
Diving – Sarah Ballard 4th, Halli Siwik 8th
100 Butterfly – Hannah Pugh 12th
100 Free – Molly Pedersen 12th
200 Free Relay (Emily Barnes, Kayleigh Witt, Bri Saple, and Laura MacLafferty) 7th
100 Back – Abby Harter 3rd, Molly Pedersen 11th, Olivia Harter 21st
100 Breast – Victoria Vicory 25th
400 Free Relay (Molly Pedersen, Emily Barnes, Abby Harter, and Ellie Pedersen) 5th

Your Royals have been led all season long by its seniors and those that competed at the state meet were very impressive – Emily Barnes, Madison Kertin, and Victoria Vicory were outstanding. Their leadership made this possible.

In addition, we were able to witness three young ladies put on an amazing show of endurance and strength – Emily Barnes, Abby Harter, and Molly Pedersen combined for a total of 23 different swims in less than 24 hours! Quite simply, they would not be denied and operated with TBS (Team Before Self) as their primary motive.

We are really proud of these young student-athletes as this is a great team comprised of good people who help each other, stay positive and live by the “Golden Rule” – they represented the Royal Nation with dignity and class all year long! Thank you for a great season and now….its the boys turn to show us what they can do!
