This was a tough loss for the Lady Royals as we really let this one slip away. We tried to swim a few athletes in some of their non-traditional events as there has been a lot of racing lately. While that made things challenging, this loss came down to 6th places in individual events and 4th places in relays. You simply must get 3 athletes in the top 5 and 2 relays in the top 3 to win meets against quality opponents like the Panthers.
That said, how about our divers tonight! Halli Siwik (1st), Sarah Ballard (2nd), and Ashley Sinicropi (3rd) swept that event for us and really boosted team spirit! The relay of Abby Harter, Madison Kertin, Hannah Pugh, and Bri Saple took 1st place in the Medley Relay. Kertin also took home the win in the 200 IM with a fantastic swim and was followed by Emily Barnes winning a tough 50 Free from behind. Hannah Pugh has been so solid all season and tonight was no different – she won the 100 Fly and almost got the 100 Back (2nd) too.
SENIOR NIGHT is one week from tonight and we hope that everyone can come out to help us show this fine group of young student-athletes how much we have appreciated their dedication over the past few years. In the meantime, our team will heal up and continue moving forward. There is still some great swimming and diving coming for these young ladies – lets go ROYALS!!!
