Despite an outstanding effort and a number of season best swims, the HSE girls dropped their clash for the Mudsock Thursday night, 106-80.
Prior to the meet, the team discussed the importance of racing for position in every event. Unfortunately FHS was universally the better team when it came to finishing very close races. That was the difference in the meet.
The Royals were victorious in the 200 medley relay to begin the meet behind the great efforts of Abby Harter, Molly Robinson, Hannah Pugh, and Bri Saple. Pugh was victorious in the 100 fly and Robinson won a very close 100 breast.
Despite dropping the meet to their rivals, the attitude and effort was great this evening and the team will now turn their attention to the HCC championship meet (diving Friday, swimming Saturday). A point of emphasis will be on taking ownership of the important aspects of race preparation and managing a meet (hydration, stretching, warmdown, etc.) as this team has a tremendous amount of room to improve in those areas.
