The Royals won teh 18th annual Bill Self Invitational Friday night in strong fashion led by many firsts and a number of season or personal bests.
Noah Malone won the 100M in 10.91. Chase Maxey took 7th. Noah also won the 200M in 21.91, a season record, and Jack Boyd placed 6th.Jackson Sweeney placed 2nd in the 400 followed by Jake Ledford in 4th. Both ran season bests. THe Royals went 1 and 3 in the 1600 lead by Brady Jarosinski, and Grant Wilson placed 2nd in the 3200. Madison Norris ran s season best in the 110 H trials, then followed with a win in the finals. Teammate Nate Dog Smith took 2nd in the 110H and won the 300H breaking the 40 second mark with a time of 39.65 for an all time best. The 4×100 team cruised to a first place finish along with the 4×400 team, who ran a season best.The 4×800 team placed 3rd.
Johnny May won teh Discus toss with a season’s best, followed by Ben Rude in 6th. Clark Collins took 3rd in the Pole Vault. Chase Maxey also won the Long Jump event on a brisk evening.
