The boys varsity track team fell to Fishers on Friday night by a final score of 82-50. Despite the loss, the Royals had several outstanding performances.
In the Shot Put, junior Evan Lantz set a personal best of over 2 ft. at 47′ 4″.
Caleb Durden had an outstanding night, setting a personal best of 41.99 in the 300 meter hurdles and finish 1st. Caleb also long jumped 20′ 3″ to finish in 2nd place.
Sophomore Gage Pratt finished first in both the 100 and 200 meter dash. Gage ran a personal best 10.98 in the 100 and 23.3 in the 200.
Xan Cluff also set a personal best in the pole vault, clearing 13′ 6″ for the first time and taking first place overall.
The Royals also had a very strong showing from the distance runners. Junior Eric Swinson, Senior Brady Jarosinski, and Senior Jacob Wiggers swept the 3200 meter run. In the 1600, Senior Eric Carothers battled extremely hard and finished very well to set a new personal best of 4:25, finishing in 2nd place.
The Royals are back in action next Thursday, May 2, at the HCC Championships at Avon.
