Tough loss for the Royals tonight – after a great victory over the Panthers last year, we ended up on the other side of it tonight. There were some really outstanding efforts, but in the end, North Central simply got their hands on the wall just a bit ahead of us too many times.
Tonight, the Royals were led by freshman Keegan Streett – after a pretty rough IM, he came back in the 500 Free with the swim of the meet! He gave our team renewed hope with our only event win of the evening and a lifetime best effort. We also saw a great battle in the 100 Fly between the Christopher brothers – Andrew edged out Ethan but both had very fine swims.
One of the better relays of the entire meet was turned in by our 200 Free C Relay – our A Relay was disqualified for a false start, but the C was so strong, they were able to get 3rd place over the North Central B. Hats off to Alex Kaminski, Zack Bostock, Nick Bostock, and Matteo Fontanin for being really solid on a relay that normally would not score. These guys were ready when called upon!
This Royals squad is starting to take shape and despite the loss looked really good tonight. The next meet is SENIOR NIGHT – one week from tonight and we hope the ROYAL NATION will be there to help us thank this great class one final time!
