Royals got out to a five-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 6-4 victory over Lawrence North on Monday.
HSE fired up the offense in the first inning. Jacob Daftari singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Michael Dillon was the winning pitcher. He lasted five innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out three. Nathan Goodsell and Tyler Schweitzer entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Schweitzer recorded the last two outs to earn the save.
Royals launched one home run on the day. Jake Huston had a four bagger in the sixth inning.
HSE racked up ten hits in the game. Daftari and Jack Dewolf all managed multiple hits for Royals.
The final home game for the Royals is this Thursday against Brownsburg for senior night. Game starts at 6:00 pm.
