The HSE boys took down a shorthanded Avon team 132-44 at home Tuesday night, winning all three relays and seven individual events on their way to victory.
Freshman Jack Waren earned his first individual victory of his high school career, winning the 200 IM in 2:10.06. Junior Matt Truxall won the 50 free in 24.48, his second event win of the season.
Senior Noah Ebeyer outdueled teammate Jack Bisesi for the win in diving, with less than three points separating their scores.
After the break, senior Thomas Reising won the fly (57.12), junior Ryan Harrison won the 100 free (54.67), and senior Keegan Streett took the 500 free in 5:06.88. Senior Justin Voelker won the breaststroke in 1:00.80.
Relay winners for HSE included Reising, Voelker, Streett, and senior Zack Bostock in the medley; Bostock, Voelker, senior Logan Hess and sophomore Skyler Listenfelt in the 200 free relay; and Streett, junior Ryan Harrison, junior Noah Haines, and sophomore Clayton Juffer in the 400 free relay.
The Royals had a handful of first-time varsity scorers in freshman Kasey Bostock (50 free, 100 free) and senior Xan Cluff (50 free). Logan Hess was impressive in the 200 IM, Listenfelt put great effort into his 200 free, and sophomore Jason Hua stood out in the 100 fly.
The Royals will travel to Franklin Central Thursday to race another conference opponent. It will be a split-squad meet, with the girls racing at 5 pm and the boys at 7.
