Girls Basketball · Coach Hupp Retires

Hamilton Southeastern girls basketball coach Chris Huppenthal announced his retirement last night at the end of the season banquet.

Coach Hupp just completed his 25th year as a head coach with stops at Highland and Kokomo High School before coming to HSE in 2005.  Coach Huppenthal finishes his career with an overall record of 457-124, that ranks him 12th all time and in overall wins among girls coaches.  In 16 years at HSE Coach Huppenthal’s teams were 282-86, winning the IHSAA State Championship in 2019.

Athletic Director Jim Self…  “Coach Hupp is a leader in our athletic department, he is a Hall of Fame basketball coach, but more importantly he is a Hall of Fame educator and person.”  “He will be a tremendous asset for our next head coach, he wants nothing more than to see our program succeed at the highest level.”
