Hamilton Southeastern Royals defeated Noblesville 6-5 in a back-and-forth affair on Saturday. HSE scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was driven by a single by Grayson Droste, a single by Jacob Daftari, and a groundout by Jack Lang. The game was tied at five with the Royals batting in the top of the eighth when Dalton Hutchinson doubled, driving in one run.
Dalton Hutchinson earned the win for Hamilton Southeastern Royals. He tossed three and two-thirds innings, surrendering one run, one hit, and striking out four. Grayson Riekhof started the game. He tossed four innings, giving up four runs, two hits, and striking out six.
The Royals collected 12 hits. Hutchinson, Daftari, and Jacob Garcia each collected multiple hits. Hutchinson went 4-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in. Jacob Daftari went 3-4 with one run batted in.
The Royals return to Ken Seitz Field on Monday to decide the series with Noblesville starting at 6:00 pm.
