Game Recap

The HSE Lady Royals Lacrosse team made history Tuesday night by taking the field for the first time as an HSE program. The girls fought the bitter cold along with a very good Chatard team to come out ahead in amazing fashion with a 14-13 Overtime win. The girls played a little tight at the beginning allowing Chatard to take a 5-1 lead early in the first half. After shaking off the jitters, the girls battled back with 8 unanswered goals to lead at halftime 9-5. As temperatures dropped, we started struggling getting draw controls. Chatard battled back in the second half and took the lead late in the second half 13-12. Senior Emma Connell (5) tied the game late with her 7th goal to put the game into overtime. In overtime, Junior Lauren Madden fought off her defender to grab the ground ball off of Senior Taylor Miller’s draw. Once in our scoring zone, Sophomore Olivia Randall came up with a huge ground ball where she quickly fed it to Connell where Emma buried it in the back of the net for her 8th and game winning goal. The Lady Royals were lead on offense by Senior Emma Connell with 10 points on 8 goals and 2 assists. Sophomore Kayla Sundling added 4 goals while Sophomore Rachel Harris had an amazing 5 assists. Defense was lead by Senior Taylor Miller with 5 draw controls and 1 forced turnover. The girls are back in action on Saturday March 25th when we host Bloomington at 1:20. JV takes the field at 12:00.
