Game Recap

The Hamilton Southeastern Royals defeated Avon on Friday night, 36-34. They improved to 1-1, after a tough 1-point season opening loss at Muncie Central.

It was an exciting back-and-forth game, needing overtime to determine a winner. Sean Barksdale led the way with 12 points, while Sam Boysen and Korey Ash-Sampson each scored 8 points. Boysen also drew a charge and had two key offensive rebounds in the final moments of overtime. Aiden Trusty and Jordan Chua hit clutch free throws in overtime to help clinch the victory as well. It was a true team effort, as shown by contributions from Elliot Robinson, Luke Engelmann, and Tony Myers off the bench.

In the second game, the Royals played yet another exciting overtime game, ultimately falling to Avon 40-36. Sam Carl, Luke Worthington, Michael Viele and Mekheil Garcia led the way. Viele was especially active throughout the game, contributing both offensively and defensively, as well as on the glass.

The Royals host North Central next Friday, December 9th at 6:00pm.
