Meet Recap

The Lady Royals’ tennis team fell to the #3 Cathedral Irish 1-4 on a beautiful Saturday morning for tennis. We knew coming in that the Koscielski sisters were going to be very tough at the singles spots, and they lived up to their reputation. All singles matches were lost in straight sets. Despite, the losses, I thought our singles girls hit the ball well and really made them work for their games. This match will make us better.

At doubles, the #1 doubles team of Remi Musselman and Alicia Verde lost 3-6, 0-6. They had some close games, but just couldn’t finish the job. We struggled to hold serve and made too many net errors, which you can’t do against a team like Cathedral. At #2 doubles, Grace Rich and Katie Noble won in a 3-setter, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0. Katie and Grace played much better today, and you can tell they are getting more comfortable playing together. After a second-set hiccup, I was proud of they way the bounced back, played aggressively, and won the deciding set 6-0.

The Royals fall to 0-2 on the year and will be back in action on Monday as they host #2 North Central.
